Apparently, Poprah has taken her lessons in “everything Diddy” from Vh1′s “I Want To Work for Diddy” Seasons 1 & 2, to heart. Like her mentor Diddy, Poprah obviously knows how to embrace and capitalize on “her own” niche market, because Hollywood South has just announced that the “Queen of Reality”, will be hosting a New Year’s Celebration at the largest nightclub in the world, exclusively for the “Plus-Size” market, Club Bounce, along with its founder, Lisa Marie Garbo. Torrid, one of the largest retailers of fashion & accessories, exclusively for the Plus-Size market, has also signed on as a sponsor, along with Loreal, and has agreed to provide Poprah with a brand new wardrobe, & gift bags for her VIP guests.
Also joining Poprah in the Plus-Size festivities are Plus-Size model, Alana Chandra from Janice Dickinson’s Modeling Competition on Oxygen, Plus Size America Winner, Chenese Lewis, & Plus Size Radio Host, Devyn Ashley.
With only 2 episodes left in the Vh1 reality show, “I Want To Work For Diddy” Season 2, Poprah is sure to be prepped to leverage her role on both seasons into some major career moves. Word has it, she’s garnering interests for her own show from several different networks interested in giving her a reality show centered around her “big” personality, a tv-talk show, other hosting/acting opportunities, and even some film roles.
Looks like this self-proclaimed, “Fatabulous” girl is keeping her promise to “rep for the big girls”. Poprah says, “It’s time to reconstruct the “Hollywood Box” to be more inclusive of plus size women. Obviously we have what it takes to be considered viable commodities in the entertainment market place. Look at Oprah, Monique, Queen Latifah, and projects like the movie “Precious” which was nominated for 3 Golden Globes, and “Drop Dead Diva” on Lifetime. The “Big Girl Movement” has officially begun, so make room, lots of room!”
Poprah has already been approached to host next year’s Plus Size Teen Pageant and is now being considered one of Hollywood’s “one’s to watch”, as well as a role model for people of all ages, sizes, and walks of life. Apparently the public is truly embracing her confident, survivor, “keep it real’, persona. Maybe, Poprah is the next Oprah, you never know, with Oprah leaving ABC, Tyra announcing Season 5 of her show is her last, you never know.
The New Years event will be held at Club Bounce on December 31, 2009 for more information, go to www.clubbounce.net.
